Rules for Canada Express Entry may change starting in 2023: Details here

Canada’s Express Entry system will undergo modifications as a result of the country’s labour shortage issues. Canadian officials will give the Invitation to Apply (ITA) paperwork to applicants who have particular work experience, education, or language abilities, according to a Livemint article.

In Canada, there are many open positions right now. The current employment vacancy rate, according to a study by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), is 5.7%, which has resulted in high immigration targets, including for individuals who apply through Express Entry programs.

Starting in 2023, the system will undergo adjustments to address this.

Soon, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will have the power to grant these ITAs to applicants who meet specified criteria for work experience, education, and language proficiency that will benefit the Canadian economy and labour market.

Because targeted drawings may become more likely as a result, other considerations will weigh more heavily on candidates, this will also have an impact on how important a high Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is for candidates.

The Canadian IRCC invited 3,750 people to apply for permanent residency in the most recent express entry draw, 500 more than in the last draw. The draws resumed on July 6, and this was the seventh all-program draw since then.

Candidates who met the requirements for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), as well as all other programs that use the Express Entry system, received invitations. The CRS score had to be at least 504.

Here’s all you need to know about the most recent draw:

✅ For the third consecutive draw, the IRCC sent out 500 more invitations than the previous one. Drawings for 3,250 candidates were held on September 14 and 2,750 persons were invited.

✅ This was also the lowest minimum CRS since all program draws resumed once Express Entry was reinstated. CRS scores have been dropping off since July 6.

✅ For each of the first five draws, scores dropped by eight or nine points. In contrast to this week’s draw, the draw on September 14 showed a six-point decline.

✅ During the epidemic, invitations to apply were only sent to CEC or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

✅ The IRCC has stopped conducting CEC draws since September 2021.
