The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is the province of Nova Scotia’s provincial nominee program, and it provides a variety of immigrants with immigration pathways to enter Canada. 

 

Through one of these migration streams, a large number of immigrants, including international students, skilled professionals, and entrepreneurs as well as temporary foreign workers in Nova Scotia, can receive a permanent residency visa in Canada. Express Entry - Nova Scotia Experience

The Federal Express Entry Program and this stream of the Nova Scotia PNP program are complementary. This stream is open to highly skilled immigrants with prior employment in Nova Scotia.

Eligibility prerequisites

✅ The age must fall between 55 and 21 years old; 

✅ The applicant must have a minimum of one year of experience in the province in a NOC – National Occupational Classification B, A, or A position

✅ A graduate degree that is on par with the Canadian equivalent of High School.

✅ French or English language competence at CLB level 5 for positions under NOC B and at CLB level 7 for those with skilled experience in NOC A and 0 jobs.

✅Create a profile and submit it to the Canadian Federal Express Entry pool.

Nova Scotia Express Entry LMP - Labour Market Priorities

The province of Nova Scotia is able to prioritize particular occupations for migration using the stream Labour Market Priorities (LMP). It provides letters of interest to target professions, with early childhood educators as the first emphasis position.

Candidates must: 

✅ Possess a Letter of Interest (LOI) in the Federal Express Entry system, which is provided by the NSNP.

✅ Meet the Express Entry stream’s minimum requirements for work knowledge in the area in which you are proficient.

Express Entry - Nova Scotia Physicians Labour Market Priorities

Nova Scotia is able to select qualified doctors from the federal Express Entry pool because to the stream Physicians Labour Market Priorities. It specifically focuses on two NOC codes—the National Occupational Classification:

  • Possess an official job offer as a specialist physician under NOC 3111 from the IWK Health Centre or a family physician under NOC 3112 from the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

  • Submit your application within 30 days of the Letter of Interest’s date of offer.
  • Meet the minimum requirements for the Express Entry-aligned program for which you are qualified in terms of your work knowledge.
  • Show that you have the money you need to settle your family and yourself in Nova Scotia.
  • Have the status of a lawful resident in the country where you are currently residing.

Nova Scotia Skilled Worker

This stream is driven by employers and is intended for graduates and international workers. After receiving a positive LMIA – Labour Market Impact Assessment, employers in Nova Scotia who are unable to fill open positions with Citizens or PR status holders in Canada may use the Skilled Worker.

Requirements:

✅ Permanent and full-time job offer from an employer from Nova Scotia.

✅ A minimum of one year of relevant experience (low-skilled and semi-skilled workers are required to have a minimum of 6 months of experience with the employer offering the job).

✅ The applicant’s age must fall between 55 and 21.

✅ Have a High School Diploma.

✅ Possess the required qualifications, training, and/or accreditation.

✅ French or English language proficiency equivalent to CLB Level 5 for skilled workers and Level 4 for low- and semi-skilled workers.

✅Financial resources for successfully settling in Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia Occupations In Demand

Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program The province’s strong need for intermediate-skilled occupations is the focus of the Occupations in Demand Pilot of Nova Scotia. Initially, it was intended for nurses, orderlies, patient service associates, and transport truck drivers. The targeted professions can change depending on the job market’s needs. The National Occupational Classification’s NOC C level jobs are specifically targeted by this stream.

Requirements

  • Have a job offer for a permanent, full-time position as a patient service associate, orderly, or nurse from a company in Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia Physician

The Public Health System in Nova Scotia is helped in the appointment of Specialist Physicians, Family Physicians, and General Practitioners by the Physician category in the province. Requirements

✅ Be a legitimate resident of the country where you are presently living.

✅ Provide documentation of your legal status if you are a worker or temporary visitor in Canada.

✅If you are living outside of Canada, provide documentation of your legal status there.

✅ If your status has been lost, you are not eligible to apply until it has been reinstated.

Job Offer

Approved and documented opportunity to work as a specialist physician (NOC 311) or family physician and general practitioner (NOC 312) at the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre or the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

The authorized job offer needs to be on IWK or NSHA official letterhead, and it needs to be:

✅ Dated and signed by the person who has the authority to hire doctors at IWK or NSHA.

✅ Dated and with the applicant’s signature accepting the offer.

✅ Detail eligibility for licensing by the NS College of Surgeons and Physicians.

✅Indicate that the applicant meets the requirements to request credentials and privileges from the IWK and NSHA.

Training and Education

a copy of the ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) or other documentation of the medical education and licensure required in Nova Scotia.

Language Proficiency

The job offers from the IWK or NSHA demonstrates the ability to execute the work in one of Canada’s official languages.

Nova Scotian Entrepreneur

Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program Candidates with senior management experience or business ownership are targeted in Nova Scotia’s Entrepreneur category. They must live in Nova Scotia, purchase an existing firm or launch a new one, and actively take part in the day-to-day management of that business.

Under the Entrepreneur Stream, applicants are initially granted a Provisional Work Visa; after one year of business operation, they may then apply for Permanent Residence. Candidates from a pool are invited to apply by the stream using an EOI – Expression of Interest format.

✅ Be at least 21 years old.

✅ Have a business in Nova Scotia that you intend to operate and own while residing there permanently.

✅ Possess a minimum net worth of $600,000.

✅ Make a minimum investment of $150,000 to start or buy a business in the province.

✅ Have at least 3 years of experience actively managing a business as the owner (minimum 33% ownership) or 5 years or more in a senior management position.

✅ Achieve a minimum CLB Level 5 in writing, reading, listening, and speaking in either English or French.

Nova Scotia Overseas Graduate Entrepreneur

Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program The Overseas Graduate Entrepreneur category, like the Entrepreneur category in Nova Scotia, is exclusively open to recent graduates of Nova Scotia Community Colleges or Universities. They had to have bought or founded a business in Nova Scotia and run it for a full year in order to qualify for the postgraduate work visa. A candidate will acquire a PR nomination if they intend to move to the province. This category operates using the EOI framework, just like the Entrepreneur category.

✅ A valid post-graduate employment visa.

✅ Achieve a minimum CLB Level 7 in writing, reading, listening, and speaking in either English or French.
