Manitoba PNP Draw in 2023

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducts monthly draws to issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible candidates. However, the frequency, size, and specific date of the the next Manitoba PNP draw are determined based on the needs of the MPNP application inventory.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) was the first Provincial Nominee Program launched in Canada in 1998. Its primary objective is to support Manitoba’s economic growth by addressing the province’s economic, demographic, and labor market needs through immigration.

Initially, the MPNP welcomed approximately 418 new immigrants in its first year. Today, it will nominate 4,000 aspiring immigrants each year through various immigration intake programs.

For individuals interested in applying under the MPNP, there are five options available:

• Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream.
• Skilled Worker Overseas Stream.
• Manitoba Business Investor Stream.
• International Education Stream.
• Modern Community Driven Initiative.

Some of these streams are considered enhanced, meaning they are linked to Canada’s Express Entry system. Express Entry is a federal economic immigration program that manages permanent residency applications under three economic immigration programs. Candidates in Express Entry are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on a point system. Those with the highest scores receive invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residency.

Candidates who do not meet the eligibility requirements for Express Entry can still receive a nomination from an enhanced provincial program, such as the Manitoba PNP. By meeting the Manitoba PNP points calculator requirements and other prerequisites, candidates can receive an additional 600 points, guaranteeing an ITA in a subsequent Manitoba PNP draw.

Base streams, on the other hand, are not aligned with Express Entry. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination through these streams are required to apply directly to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for further processing.
