Canada’s Newest Immigration Level Plan 2023–2025 Will Be Released Soon

Canada will soon release its most recent Immigration Level Plan 2023–2025. The number of immigrants who will be admitted to Canada each year is announced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Immigrants from various economic classes, family classes, and humanitarian class programs are included in the three-year Immigration Level Plan. It will display the projects for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 in November 2022.

By November 1 of each year, the Canadian Government is required by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to make the statement (IRPA). This is the main immigration law of Canada.

Given that the first announcement was made in February 2022, the upcoming Immigration Level Plan will be the second to be made in 2022.

What is the purpose of Canada making two announcements this year?

The announcement date for the 2022–2024 plan was November 1, 2021. However, it was put on hold until February 2022. Parliament was dormant following the federal election until November 22, 2021.

In comparable circumstances, the immigration plan must be disclosed within 30 days of the re-constitution of parliament. In the middle of January 2022, the parliament reconvened. As a result, the Canadian government made the decision to publish a new Immigration Level Plan on time as usual.

What is the immigration level plan currently?

According to the Immigration Plan for 2022–2024, the Canadian government expects to admit 431,645 new permanent residents through all immigrant classes in 2022. By 2024, it could reach 451,000.

Canada will have welcomed 300,000 new permanent residents by 2022, the majority of whom came through programs for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Up to 241,850 immigrants from the economic class, 105,000 from the family class, and 8,250 from the humanitarian class are the focus of the next plan. However, after the new Immigrant Levels Plan 2023–2025 is announced, these goals could change.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser stated in a June interview that he anticipates the goal of 500,000 new permanent residents in the future. He did not, however, give a specific goal or year.

He added, “Through the current track, we are growing our population by more than 1%. That course will stay the same. I am unsure of the precise year in which we will surpass the 500,000 marks annually. It will be based on what communities require.

Why does Canada admit so many immigrants?

The economy, family reunification, and humanitarian assistance can all benefit from welcoming a large number of immigrants to Canada.

Additionally, newcomers make economic contributions to Canada through their labor and income taxes. The areas that can benefit from the taxes paid by immigrants include infrastructure, healthcare, education, pensions, and many more. More people in Canada are of retirement age, which eventually has an impact on the economy. Immigrants can contribute to maintaining Canada’s quality of living.
